COVID-19: Umahi suspends five aides for not wearing face masks
Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, on Friday suspended five of his special assistants for non-compliance with the COVID-19 safety protocols at the Margaret Umahi International Market Abakaliki.
The concerned aides are the ones managing the market. They were recently appointed to enforce compliance with COVID-19 protocols in the market.
During his visit to the market, the governor was enraged when he noticed that most of the people at the market were not putting on face masks.
After discovering that the five aides were not on duty at the market, the governor, who had suspended two auditor-generals and the state coordinator of FADAMA III recently issued the suspension order.
They have therefore been directed to hand over their official vehicles.
