Nigerian Army Nabs Fake INEC Staff Allegedly Working For Nyesom Wike, The Rivers State Governor

The Nigerian army has declared the nabbing of at least eight suspects who allegedly caused havoc during the 2019 presidential election in Rivers state on Saturday, February 23rd.

While parading the arrested suspects at the 6 division of the Nigerian army, Port Harcourt, today, February 26th, Sagir Musa identified as the army spokesman, stated that the suspects confessed to being working for Nyesom Wike known to be the governor of Rivers state.

According to Sagir Musa, the army spokesman in Port Harcourt, the arrested suspects had taken the form of the staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and tampered with electoral materials in Rivers state.

The army spokesman, Sagir Musa, further stated that the army has on record phone conversations between the suspects and the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike.

Meanwhile, the arrested suspects were paraded before newsmen at the division headquarters.

The arrested suspects were subsequently taken out to where the army said a“car of Rivers state of government which they used in their operation was parked.

The army in Rivers state further called out on the governor of Rivers state for trying to bribe one of its officers labelling it as a failed attempt by Governor Nyesom Wike to compromise the Army.

It is important to note that the information and the arrest in which the army made was backed up by an audio recording which appears to have the voice of Governor Wike speaking with an officer and which was played on live TV.
