Rapper Lil Uzi Vert Retires From Music

Rapper, Lil Uzi Vert posted on his Instagram story that he had made a decision to quit music. He claimed he was done with music and wasn’t going back to it. In his words, “I wanna take the time out to say I thank each and every one of my supports, I’m done with music”, “I deleted everything. I wanna be normal…I wanna wake up in 2013.”

Fans had had enough! They took to Twitter and Instagram to express their displeasure at the retirement of one of the most loved rappers in recent times. Some say that there is every possibility that the rapper had deleted the files for his Eternal Awake album. It is however unclear whether this is a form of publicity stunt or the truth as it were or why he would go for such cheap publicity stunt as he is no small rapper.

His debut album, Luv is Rage 2 took the No. 1 spot on Billboard Hot 100. A track from it, XO Tour Llif3, peaked at No. 7 and brought the Philadelphia rapper to limelight.

Before his alleged retirement, members of the Heaven’s gate cult had threatened to take legal action against him. This was owing to the fact that the rapper had used a controversial art cover – which the cult claimed rights to – for his upcoming album, Eternal Awake.

The wait for the album would be cut short by this latest development. Lil Uzi Vert had been preparing for the album’s release since and even had plans to make the official release at the end of the year although that didn’t make the light of the day.

Let’s hope the rapper isn’t serious about quitting music. With this in mind, it is likely that the album be dropped soonest. Important to realize is that he isn’t the first to make this kind of announcement. Popular musicians like Justin Bieber and Jay Z have previously made such claims. However, they couldn’t hold on for too long.

Is Lil Uzi Vert going to make a return? I guess we never can tell.
