Ronaldo Hits 700-Goal Mark With Goal Against Ukraine

Cristiano Ronaldo has hit the 700-goal mark in Portugal’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Ukraine.

The Portugal talisman scored his 95th goal for his national side to hit another career milestone.

The superstar hit his septuple century mark for club and country when he stepped up to the spot to fire home a penalty awarded to Portugal after Taras Stepanenko was found guilty of handling the ball with his hand.

At 95 goals for Portugal, he sits behind only Iran’s Ali Daei on the all-time International goals ranking.

Ali Daei scored an incredible 109 goals for his country and tops the international goalscoring chart.

Cristiano Ronaldo who currently plays for Turin-based giants, Juventus is one of only six players to have made 700 career goals.

Josef Bican is estimated to have been the highest goalscorer with an intimidating 805 goals.

Just behind Bican is the duo of impeccable Brazilian stars in Romario and Pele who scored 772 and 767 goals respectively.

Two other legends in¬†Ferenc Puskas’ and Gerd Muller complete the list with 746 and 735 goals respectively.

Ronaldo’s decade-long rival is poised to join the 700-goal club soonest having found the net an astonishing 699 times and in fewer games in fact.

Ronaldo, 34, scored the bulk of his goals during a fruitful nine-year spell at Real Madrid where he bagged 450 goals.

The front man continues to carve a niche for himself as a deadly poacher, scoring netting 32 times for Juventus, 24 of which came in his debut season in Italy.

The five-time Balon D’Or winner scored only five times for his boyhood club, Sporting CP before making a switch to Manchester United in 2003, where 118 goals would etch his name in gold at Old Trafford.

He has found the net 10 times this term and still has a long way to go if he has any dreams of coming close to his most prolific season ever.

During the 2011/12 season where Real Madrid unseated Barcelona as the Spanish Champions, Ronaldo netted an unbelievable 69 goals.
