Since Prison Is The Safest Place for Me, I Suggest That You, Your Family Move There to Avoid Kidnapping, Nnamdi Kanu Replies Justice Nyako

  • Kanu is asking the court to cancel the revocation of his bail.
  • Suggests that Justice uses the nearest prison to avoid being kidnapped.

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has fired back at Justice Binta Nyako, who had said the safest place for him in the country is the prison.

Kanu failed to appear for his trial having fled the country under questionable circumstances. This made the court to revoke his bail after an application was filed by the Federal Government. The allegations levelled against him by the prosecutor includes treasonable felony, maintenance of unlawful assembly among others.

He recently lost his father and wanted to come home to bury him. He is, therefore, challenging the revocation of his bail after he stopped appearing in his trial by the Nigerian government.

Following his reappearance after 13 months, his lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, returned to ask the court to consider the recent account of Mr. Kanu’s trip away from Nigeria and decide whether he acted illegally by avoiding his trial since according to the defense team, his life was under threat.

Since he claimed that his life is under threat, the judge suggested that the prison is the safest place for him. Reacting to this via his Twitter handle, he suggested that Justice Binta and can avoid being kidnapped by housing themselves in a prison nearby.

“According to Justice Binta Nyako, “Nigeria is NOT safe for anyone, including judges.” If in her view prison is the safest place to live for Nigerians, I suggest her family move into the nearest one to avoid being abducted. Nigeria is lawless, confirmed!”, he tweeted.
