Teni Explains Why She Mentioned Dangote And Otedola In Her Songs

Nigerian singer, Teni in an interview with Punch revealed her reasons for mentioning names of wealthy men like Otedola and Dangote in her songs.

She stated that she was exposed to a culture where singing praises to people is an essential thing.

“I grew up being exposed to a lot of culture and one essential part of that is praise-singing people. I decided to incorporate that practice into my songs so that people could relate more with them.” She said.

She also clarified that contrary to the opinion that she mentioned their names to get attention from them, she did so to encourage listeners to lead their best lives.

“This project basically encourages people to lead their best lives, achieve their dreams and generally enjoy what life has to offer. No doubt, life has its challenges, but sometimes, one just needs to take a break and enjoy it,” she said.
