Wolves vs. Liverpool – EPL December 2018 Preview and Scores

Match Preview

Liverpool have a chance to move four points clear at the top and also make it seven wins in a row in the premier league on friday night. They travel to face Wolves at the Moulineux in what is likely to be an exciting encounter.

Jurgen Klopp’s side engineered a memorable ‘last week’ as victory over Napoli secured their place in the last 16 of the Champions League and then a convincing 3-1 win over bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday, which effectively ended Jose Mourinho’s job at United.

Now they face a revitalised Wolves team that has won three games in a row themselves, and has even avoided defeat against the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United this season.

Liverpool Team News

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee), Joel Matip (shoulder), Joe Gomez (ankle), Trent Alexander-Arnold (foot) and James Milner (hamstring) are all out to injury and even though there is a chance the latter two could play, Klopp would not want to risk them.

Xherdan Shaqiri came off the bench to score twice against United and so will be hopeful of being handed a recall for this one, alongside the usual front three of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Naby Kaita, Fabinho and Georgino Wijnaldum are all fit and Klopp must decide who to play in the centre of the pile.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves started the season brilliantly drawing ‘big fishes’ like Manchester City before a dip of form saw them go some games without a point. But in recent weeks they have been able to undergo what is like a resurgence.

They defeated Chelsea and then Bournemouth 2-0 to make it 3 wins in a row, the first time they will do that in almost 40 years.

The win saw Nuno Espirito Santo’s side climb up to seventh place in the table while Bournemouth remain in mid-table after a sixth defeat in seven Premier League games.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News

Nuno Espirito Santo will likely field gis strong side to face Liverpool as they consolidate their winning streak and hope to make it 4 in a row.

The likes of Ruben Neves, Caveilero and Raul Jimenez are sure to play. Douglas Costa is also expected to play if he is fit. Ryan Benett and Matt Doherty are also expected to play for the side. This is coming as Ryan Bennet just signed a new contract extension with some other players said to follow suit.
