Early life and background of Josh2Funny
Josh2funny was born on the 18th of December, 1990 in Anambra State, Nigeria. He grew up partly in Anambra before moving to Lagos at age 7. After completing his primary and secondary education, he went ahead to study Computer Science at Federal Science and Technical College, Yaba. The comic actor cherished education but never liked being confined in a building. Having supportive and understanding parents, they urged him to study courses that will help him harness his skills. This saw him studying photography for two years and attending school of performance arts, Qban Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos.
His Rise to Fame
Josh2Funny ventured into comedy while he was still a student in secondary school. Then he was a member of the literary and debating society. He often performed at the school’s special events getting accolades for his performances. Propelled by words of encouragement, he started professionally by performing in churches and other social events. In a bid to advance his comedy career, he was under the mentorship of Koffi and Basketmouth for five years. He came to limelight with a comedy skit he did with another comedian, Longman. This saw him acting as Long man’s mother who slapped him thus making him rotate and singing the popular Christian chorus, ‘I can see everything turning around for my good.’
Josh2Funny is known for his feminine wears and singing popular songs in heavily laced Igbo accent. According to him, the female outfit makes his video more relatable and funny. However, acting feminine has created controversies and speculations about him being gay. He has come out to refute the claims stating that he wears female clothing for his comedy skits but wears men’s clothing for any stand-up comedy or event where he was the compere. His comedy skits are inspired by personal experiences and imaginations. He has shared the stage with other contemporary comedians such as Broda Shaggi, Lasisi Elenu, and Kenny Blaq.
The social media influencer has also dipped his toes in the waters of Nollywood by featuring as a guest star on the Africa Magic series “My Flatmates”. He got so many award nominations at MAYA and OYA awards in 2016. Josh2Funny has also dabble into music as he has some songs to his credit. He released a new album ” A break from jokes” in April 2020.

The instagram sensation got engaged to his long time girlfriend in October 2019. He announced his engagement via instagram post ” Dem Don collect me oooo”.
