Following the arrest of Osun west senator, Ademola Adeleke by the Nigerian Police Force NPF, Nigerian leading Lawyer, Femi Fani Kayode has reacted to his arrest.

Femi Fani Kayode in his statement called on the Federal Government to leave Senator Ademola Adeleke alone.

He added that detaining Adeleke will not help, he said the FG cannot rob the people of Osun or deny them of their choice

The former Aviation minister said, “BUHARI, FOR GOD SAKE STOP THIS MADNESS AND LEAVE DEMOLA ADELEKE ALONE! DETAINING HIM WILL NOT HELP YOU. WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT HE WILL BE SWORN IN AS GOVERNOR OF OUR BELOVED OSUN STATE. IMOLE TI DE! YOU WILL NOT AND CANNOT ROB THE PEOPLE OF OSUN OR DENY THEM THEIR CHOICE!”

In a similar manner, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has called for the immediate and unconditional release of Sen. Ademola Adeleke.

Sen. Ademola Adeleke was scheduled to travel out of the country today for medical check-up but was detained yesterday morning.

The PDP in a statement released by it national spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan described the detention of Sen. Adeleke as a recipe to chaos not only in Osun state but also in the judiciary and the polity of the nation.

Kola Ologbondiyan in his statement stated that the arrest of the Osun senator was part of a plot by the All Progressive Congress to ”coerce’ Adeleke to let go of his mandate.

The arrest and detention of Senator Adeleke is a direct act of violence against our laws, the institution of the judiciary and the 1999 Constitution (as amended),” Ologbondiyan stated.

Ologbondiyan added that, “The plot is to drag Senator Adeleke before an ostensibly compromised magistrate court, over the same issues of alleged forged school testimonial that is already before the Federal High Court, with a view to using such corridor to secure a stampeded trial and hurried conviction, and put him out of circulation, over trump-up charges.

“The PDP holds that any arraignment of Senator Adeleke in a magistrate court, for a matter that is already being heard by the Federal High Court, is a calculated plot to cause crisis in the judicial system, enmesh the matter in unnecessary controversy as a pathway to truncate the course of justice in his matter.”
