Jonathan’s kinsman, Agadaga, Declares Joins Bayelsa Governorship Race

A kinsman of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Benson Agadaga, has declared his intention in running for the Bayelsa State governorship election slated for November 16.

Also Emmanuel Paulker, former Senator representing Bayelsa Central District has thrown his hat in the ring to take over Creek Haven, the Bayelsa State Government House.

Supporters of both aspirants, who are seeking to get the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the governorship poll have since flooded the streets and major highways of the Yenagoa metropolis with posters and banners.

Agadaga in his part promised he would bring development to the people if elected.

Agadaga, who is also the National Chairman, Ogbia Brotherhood Worldwide, a socio-cultural group mostly dominated by prominent Ogbia sons said his aspiration is borne out of his desire to continue to serve the people of Bayelsa at the highest level having served as Commissioner for Information.

Agadaga, who is the current Special Adviser on Establishment to Governor Seriake Dickson said he is seizing the opportunity to seek the support and blessings of the foremost socio-cultural organisation of the people of Ogbia kingdom and entire people of Bayelsa to contest in the election.

“This is in furtherance of my passion for public service in many capacities and this time, I seek the office of the governor and I appeal to the people to support my ambition,” he said.

Meanwhile, a group of artisans and technicians in the state, under the aegis of Paulker Motive Force, had earlier called on the former three-time lawmaker to join the governorship battle.

During a mini procession in Yenagoa, on Monday, the group also promised to contribute and purchase the nomination form for the Senator.
