Kogi Governorship Poll: Gov Yahaya Bello Coasts to Victory After Defeating Musa Wada

Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello has been reelected after the final collation for the Saturday’s governorship election has been concluded by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The collation was completed after the process was resumed this morning.

Recalls that the Returning Officer for the election and Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Umar, who declared Bello winner had informed party agents and others at the collation centre on Sunday that the exercise would continue by 9 am.

After the two remaining results were brought in, Bello polled a massive 406,222 votes to defeat his contestant, Musa Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 189,704 votes to emerge second.

Results were cancelled in five Registration Areas due to violence and disruption of the electoral process and threats to life.
