Lionel Messi 50th Hatrick Obliterate Daunting Sevilla

Lionel Messi masterminded a beautiful comeback and an incredible Barcelona win over Laliga side sevilla when they locked horns at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium to send Barcelona 10 points clear off second-placed Atletico Madrid.

Messi in spectacular fashion recorded his 33rd goal of the season and his 36th against Sevilla. I kid you not, the Argentine is the best kid on the block.

The Blaugranas had twice gone behind thanks to goals from Jesus Navas and Gabriel Mercado but it was Messi’s hatrick and an assist for Luis Suarez which gave Barcelona the glimmer of hope in what ended as an incredible win.

Messi instituted the first real threat of the match via a freekick but it didn’t quite make the mark before Navas finished off at the other end after receiving a cross from Wissam Ben Yedder.

However the home side’s lead only lasted four minutes after Messi produced a thunderous volley into the top left corner of the post after receiving a cross from Ivan Rakitic in what could well turn out to finish off as a goal of the season contender.

Barca struggled against a counter-attacking Sevilla and soon fell behind once again, this time by a Gabriel Mercado goal who had received a pass from Pablo Sarabia after Ter Stegen was forced to make a hasty clearance.

Valverde brought in Sergi Roberto and Dembele at the break and this substitution seemed vital when the latter was teed up by Suarez but he failed to find the back of the net.

With 67 minutes down the clock, Lionel Messi found the net once again as he curled the ball home from the edge of the box to make a fine equalizer.

With five minutes remaining on the clock, Barcelona had gotten the lead through no other than Messi. The Argentine clipped home after an Alena’s blocked shot fell to him.

He once more got a chance at goal, this time turning provider for a goal calmly finished by Luis Suarez only seconds away from the final whistle.
