Ronald Koeman is charged with the job of stopping the rot in the Netherlands national team and taking them to the Euro 2020 finals – a competition they will jointly host – by whatever way possible.

Being drawn with perennial qualifiers, Germany might make the job look a bit tough on the surface but Koeman is willing to give it all he’s got.

The manager has stirred the Orange boys to only a good start where they have lost only two of their 11 matches since his take over.

Important to realize however is that both losses were to fellow European teams in England and France.

Since the 2014 World Cup Champions made a 2018 World Cup Group stage exit, Joachim Low has had enough time to devise new plans and strategies, drop some players and embrace others in a view to ultimately get the team on its feet again.

Indeed, speaking about the embrace of new legs, waning Manuel Neuer was the only World Cup winner to feature in the game against Serbia.

That said, they don’t have so much positives from to speak of from their results. They have managed only two of their seven matches since the last World Cup with the two coming in friendlies with Russia and Peru.
