Omokri: Justice Bulkachuwa’s Withdrawal from Appeal Panel Shows She Is Courageous
Reno Omokri, former media aide of former president Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa’s withdrawal as chairman of the 2019 Presidential Election Tribunal, describing such decision as a courageous one.
iDONSABI reported that Justice Zainab, who is also the President of the Appeal Court announced her withdrawal from the panel on Wednesday in Abuja after the tribunal had delivered ruling against an application challenging her membership of the tribunal.
Justice Bulkachuwa who said her withdrawal was based on personal reason said: “I have allowed the ruling on the application urging me to recuse my membership of the tribunal to test the position of the law.”
Reacting via his Twitter handle, Omokri said Bulkachuwa’s action showed she is courageous and patriotic.
“I commend Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa for recusing herself from the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
“It is the right thing to do considering that her husband is an elected APC politician. Her action took courage and shows patriotism,” he twitted.

It could be recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Presidential Candidate in the recently held general election, Atiku Abubakar, had approached the tribunal to challenge Bulkachuwa’s membership, praying that the tribunal order the discharge of the chairman of the tribunal because her husband and son were card-carrying members of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
