Sen. Remi Tinubu speaks on N220million project she nominated in the 2018 Budget

– Sen. Remi Tinubu has opened up on the N220 million project she nominated in the 2018 Budget to her constituency

– She disclosed that her office is in no way involved in the release of funds or award of contracts

Sen. Remi Tinubu, who represents the Lagos State Central Senatorial District in the Senate has responded to questions raised on the N220 million projects she nominated in the 2018 budget to her constituency.

Popular social media handle, Tracka.NG had raised the question via Twitter yesterday, The statement read, ”Dear Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, we are aware that the FG has released 50% funds to MDAs. Can you provide an update on the N220m projects you nominated in the 2018 budget to your constituency? Public funds must work for the people.

Mrs. Remi Tinubu in a response disclosed that she approached the Federal Ministry of Education where the project is domiciled, she revealed that the ministry had received some part of the funds.

She, however, reiterated that her office is no way involved in the release of the fund or award of contracts.

Below is her full statement, it read

Sequel to request for implementation status of Zonal intervention Projects which I nominated in 2018, my office approached the Federal Ministry of Education where the project is domiciled.

According to the Ministry: 1. 50% of funds for 2018 were released 2. However, as only 50% was released in 2017, funds for 2018 was used to pay up the deficit. 3. Another 20% has been released. 4. Accordingly, only 20% of the project will be implemented.

I must reiterate that my office is in no way involved in release of funds or award of contracts. Please direct any other questions or requests for clarification to the Federal Ministry of Education.
