Serena Williams Set to Get Married, and He’s a Super-Rich Tech Guy
World famous women tennis champion, Serena Williams have announced her engagement to Alexis Ohanian, the Super-Rich co-founder of social media and news website Reddit.
Serena made the announcement via a romantic poem she shared on Reddit. 33-year-old Ohanian co-founded the website 2005 with a friend and the website has grown to a multi-million dollar venture.
An except from Serena’s poem reads: “I came home a little late, someone had a bag packed for me and a carriage awaited destination. Rome!
“To escort me to my very own `charming’. Back to where our stars first collided,”
“And now it was full circle, at the same table we first met by chance. This time he made it not by chance but by choice.
“Down on one knee, he said four words and I said yes!”
Ohanian had also replied to Williams’ post by saying: “And you made me the happiest man on the planet.”
Ohanian went on to share Williams’ post on Facebook alongside his own jubilant announcement: “She said yes.”
Williams’ media representative has also confirmed the engagement.
Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian have kept their relationship away from the public eye, with Williams sharing just a few Instagram photos of them enjoying time together with friends.
The engagement, capped off a brilliant year for Serena in which she won her seventh Wimbledon singles title and 22nd Grand Slam singles title. The only low point in the year, was her dropping down to world number two in the ATP world ranking.
Serena Williams is currently busy prepping for the ASB classic in New Zealand and will have little time to enjoy her new engagement as the year runs to an end.
Ohanian is an American internet entrepreneur, activist, investor, and best-selling author born in the Brooklyn borough of New York City and based in San Francisco.
Reddit has become a popular social media community where users group around topics, news articles and discussion points, rather than around people they know in offline life. While in college, Ohanian and a friend, Steve Huffman, founded the website in 2005.
