Herrera to sign contract extension at Manchester United

According to Goal, Ander Herrera is set to sign a new contract keeping him at Old Trafford for some years to come. The midfielder has seen a revitalization in his career under new boss, Ole Gunner Solksjaer.  He will therefore be considering a  future at Manchester United. Before this, refusing a new contract meant Herrera would leave Manchester United as a free agent in the summer.

The Spaniard moved to Old Trafford from Athletic Bilbao in 2014. He has since gone on to make 85 appearances in the league. The 29-yr old has played several utility roles for the red devils. He’s played central and attacking midfielder roles, centre-back and even right-back roles. In the light of this, the 6ft-tall player could well go on to be a great for Manchester United.

Update on Manchester United’s move for Kalidou Koulibaly

According to reports, Kalidou Koulibaly could in any event push for a move to Manchester United. His present club, Napoli have however declined the request according to teamtalk. Nevertheless, United have regularly shown interest in the African with interests in Aldeweireld and Maguire. Napoli’s President has confirmed United’s interest in the defender. He however had this to say:

“Jose Mourinho wanted him, we rejected £95million,” he added “But now it’s impossible that he leaves Napoli”. The red devils will however be looking to seduce him with a pay that could see him earn twice his current wages at Napoli. The Manchester-based club will also be looking to capitalize on the willingness of the player to move to Old Trafford. It is however unlikely to see the deal pull through before summer.
