Social media users have commended River state governor, Nyesom Wike for congratulating President Muhammadu Buhari over the reaffirmation of his reelection by the presidential election tribunal.
In its ruling, Justice Mohammed Garba, who led the five-man panel, dismissed the petition in its entirety and the parties are to bear their respective cost.
Wike got applauds for being the first opposition leader to congratulate the president.
The governor has also been in the news for condemning the committee set up by his party , the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to investigate the emergence of Ndudi Elumelu as the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, describing it as the most corrupt in the history of the major opposition party.
Is it not wonderful that Wike was the first politician across all parties that first congratulated Buhari? Does it not mean he knew before now that Atiku wasn’t coming anywhere? pic.twitter.com/sYkp0gW3ad

2015 Supreme Court in Wike v Peterside decided that Card Reader generated information was not good evidence to prove over-voting, noncompliance, thus saved @GovWike; @OfficialPDPNig said it was best decision
…today Wike v Peterside is cited against PDP, & it’s now bad decision

Wike may not be a nice person, but he doesn’t pretend about Atiku. He knows Atiku is a disaster and will remain so.

Gov.Wike has congratulated @MBuhari on his victory at PEPT. Are we witnessing the resurgence of Alh.Waziri Ibrahim’s brand of “politic without bitterness” in Nigeria, or it’s some gimmicks by Wike.
