Aguero Reveals Next Destination After Spell At Man City

Sergio Aguero has reiterated his innate desire to return to boyhood club, Independentie at the end of his spell at Manchester City.

The City striker left Independentie to join Atletico Madrid in 2006 before making a switch to the Citizens five years later.

The Argentine has now become a star and more of a club legend at Man City, stirring them to four Premier League titles, including a last gasp winner in 2011-12 where they pipped Man United to the title.

The City legend has recently being welcomed back to the Argentine squad after a series of underwhelming performances at the 2018 World Cup saw his name dropped from the squad list.

Aguero has made no secret about his intentions of returning to play in Argentina before he hangs his boots.

“I always try [to get back to Argentina],” said Aguero, whose current contract with City expires at the end of the 2021 campaign.

“I know what the fans [of Independiente] want, but I have a contract with City and I try to focus on these two years I’ve got left.

“Then I’ll see what I’ll do but of course, the Rojo [Independiente] is my priority.”

Aguero, 33, has expressed his delight at returning to the country’s squad after a series of beastly performances in the premier league this season where he found the net 21 times in 33 appearances.

“In all the competitions, this was the year I have been at my best condition physically,” he added.

“I didn’t have that many injuries… I only lost a week and a half in the whole year.

“For me it was fundamental to end the year the way I did and now I’ll try to keep in the same shape with the national team.

“When you’re not called up you imagine the worst, but I tried to do things right at my club, not thinking about it. Thank God, for my form and for the way I ended the season, I’m here today.”
