Bayelsa: Buhari’s Aide Onochie Salutes The President for Not Interfering

A social media aide of President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie has lauded her principal for not interfering in the political happenings in Bayelsa state.

The Supreme Court had annulled the victory of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the south-south state and ruled and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue fresh certificates to the candidates of the party with the next highest votes and with the required constitutional spread of votes in the results of the election, which is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Duoye Diri and his deputy governor-elect, Lawrence Ewrudjakpo.

INEC honoured the Supreme Court judgement and issued fresh certificates of return Diri and Ewrudjakpo.

Reacting to the development, Onochie took to her Twitter page and wrote:  “Done and Dusted. Bayelsa Governor-Elect, Sen. Douye Diri and Deputy, have been sworn in as Governor and Deputy Governor of Bayelsa in Yenagoa. The Supreme Court has spoken. Bayelsans have moved on.
