Coronavirus: ‘Something Doesn’t Add Up’, Fani-Kayode Speaks on Quarantined Italian in Lagos

A former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said that something is unclear about the Italian citizen tested positive of the COVID-19.

Fani-Kayode, in a deleted tweet, had been curious since the incident happened, wondering why his name and pictures were not revealed.

He also wondered why the government found it hard to locate those that were on the flight with and others that had contact with him after leaving Milan to Lagos.

He is also wondering why the Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, went to see in at the isolation centre without wearing protective gear.

“The Italian that brought coronavirus into Nigeria has not been named & his picture has not been released to the public. The driver that was alleged to have driven him to Abeokuta said he did not do so. The passengers on the plane in which he flew into Nigeria cannot be traced.

“The claim that he was an employee of a company & that he went to their office in Lagos after leaving the airport has proved to be false. Finally, the Lagos state Comm. of Health went to see the Italian at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba without wearing any protective gear. Something doesn’t add up in this saga.
