Elisha Abbo Must Be Disciplined, Atiku Tells PDP

  • Atiku says the law must take its course over the matter.
  • He advises the lawmaker to go to the police station and apologize.

Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to immediately discipline the lawmaker representing Adamawa North senatorial district, Senator Elisha Abbo over assault on an expectant mother at a sex-toy shop in Abuja.

The video showing the lawmaker slapping the woman, who he allegedly called him a drunk had gone viral and the act has been condemned by many.

iDONSABI reports that the Senate set up a committee to investigate the senator.

Atiku who took to his social media page to condemn the act said it was inexcusable.

The PDP presidential candidate at the last general election whom Abbo had once described as a father to him, advised him to publicly apologize over the act and the law must take its course.

“I have seen the alleged assault video involving Sen. Elisha Abbo. The video is sad, inexcusable. I know the Senator quite well. But the law is clear and leaders must lead by example.

‪‪”I advise him to publicly apologize, voluntarily go to the police and show a good example expected of a young leader. I also call on our party, the PDP, to take necessary disciplinary action and the Nigerian Police to ensure the law takes its full course,’ he wrote.
