Instagram, the photo and video-sharing social networking service is no stranger to privacy scandal. In late 2018, it was disclosed that that there was a security flaw in the Instagram feature ‘Download Your Data’, which leaked users passwords in text form.
In a bid to ameliorate the situation, Instagram came out to announce that only a small number of users were at risk and the issue had been swiftly resolved. However, in a number of ways, Instagram still poses a threat to your privacy. Over the years, there’s been lots of feature updates on the app including the status activity notification.
The feature (status activity) which is a default setting can be disabled in the ‘Privacy and Security’ section of the account settings. Looking for a step-by-step guide on how to delete Instagram? We’ve got you covered.
Based on your preference, you can decide to delete or deactivate your account. While deactivation is temporary, deletion is permanent. Once your account is deactivated, your profile, followers, photos, like, and comments will be hidden from other users. All this information can be restored by simply logging in again.
The deletion of your instagram account is irreversible as your photos, likes and all data will be permanently deleted. Besides that, you won’t be able to sign up with the same username again or add the same username to another account.
