Manchester United Slap £180 Million Price Tag On Pogba

Manchester United after toughened their stance on troubled midfielder, Paul Pogba, slapping a £180 million price tag on the World Cup winner, writes David McDonnell in Perth.

The Red Devils were angered by Pogba’s agents comments – Mino Raiola – about the French midfielder’s desire to leave Old Traffod after making a return to greater Manchester from Juventus three years ago.

United had originally placed a £150 million tag on Pogba’s head who had cost the club £89 million when they re-signed him in 2016.

But with the transfer market’s inflating prices and in the wake of Raiola’s comments and agitation for a move for his client, Manchester United have upped that figure by £30 million.

As it stands, the duo of Juventus and Real Madrid will be expected to cough £180 million – double the figure United paid in 2016 – if they are to be given any considerations.

United seek for a replacement for Pogba in Sean Longstaff if the French midfielder is signed by either of Juve or Real Madrid but the midfielder is quoted £50 million for Newcastle.

Against that backdrop, some United sources have claimed that United have insisted that Pogba is not up for sale and would consequently cost £180 million if he is to be signed by any club this summer.

Norwegian gaffer and Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is full of praise for the former Juventus man, insisting that he was highly professional and has not caused him any problems.

Recall that recently, the United boss claimed that there was a media agenda against the France International.

Although the 26 year old wants out, United claim they haven’t received any bids yet and the player is currently on a pre-season tour with the rest of the squad.
