No One is Promised Tomorrow Bible

“No one is promised tomorrow” literally means that no one can tell if he or she will live to see the next day.

That exact phrase isn’t in the Bible, not in the King James Version or any translation.

Nevertheless, the idea is definitely there but stated differently.

Here’s a collection of Bible verses in reference to tomorrow.

1. Proverbs 27:1 KJV

Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

This context advises us not to boast about tomorrow. Only God knows what the future holds and he wants us to trust him with our plans.

He wants us to rest our hopes in His version of tomorrow.

2. James 4:13-15 KJV

Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

James advises the believers to make their lives count as life is fleeting. He urged them with the phrase “if it’s the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that”.

3. Matthew 6:33-34 KJV

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

4. Ecclesiastes 9:11 KJV

Here, we’re told to set our priorities right, making God our primary concern. We should focus on the present not worrying about tomorrow.
I  returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

5. Proverbs 3:28 KJV

Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Procrastination is a thief. Don’t postpone what can be done today. You don’t know what tomorrow has in store for you.

6. 1 Kings 19:2 KJV

Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

7. Isaiah 22:13 KJV

And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.

8. 1 Corinthians 15:32 KJV

If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die.
