‘Prostitution is a crime’ – ACP Abayomi Shogunle as Nigerians react to Abuja Police Raid on women

– ACP Abayomi Shogunle has made it known that prostitution in Nigeria is a crime

– This comes as Nigerians via their Twitter handles reacted to the Abuja Police Raid on Women

Following the arrest of some women at clubhouses in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, there have been various reactions to the arrest by Nigerians.

Some Nigerians are of the opinion that women were not the only one at the clubs they were arrested and have called for why the men, who were also present at the club, were not arrested.

However, Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP, Abayomi Shogunle in a statement via his Twitter handle has reacted to the report as he made it known that prostitution in Nigeria is a crime under the law of the country.

He added that prostitution is a sin under the two main religions of residents of the FCT, a means to spread sexually transmitted diseases STD, is a lifeline of violent criminals among others.

ACP Abayomi Shogunle in a Tweet via Twitter wrote, “Those making noise on the clampdown on prostitutes in #Abuja; •Prostitution is a crime under the law •P is a sin under the 2 main religions of FCT residents •Medicine says P is spreading HIV & STD •P is lifeline of violent criminals •P don’t pay tax• culture frowns at P.”
