SDP expels Jerry Gana and acting National chairman

– The SDP has expelled Professor Jerry Gana and the acting national chairman, Supo Shonibare with immediate effect

– The Party also suspended Donald Duke for disrespecting the party

A new report has made it known that the Social Democratic Party SDP have expelled one of it Presidential candidate, Prof. Jerry Gana and the acting National Chairman, Supo Shobanire.

The report also disclosed that another SDP Presidential candidate, Donald Duke has been placed on suspension for disrespecting the party.

This latest development comes after the SDP had endorsed the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC, President Muhammadu Buhari for second term last week.

SDP’s Director of Media and Publicity, Yemi Akinbode, made this known at a news briefing in Abuja.

According to the report, the Social Democratic Party SDP announced the latest decision at a news briefing in Abuja, today.

Akinbode in his statement said Prof. Jerry Ghana and Supo Shonibare were expelled for engaging in anti-party activities.

He further disclosed that while Shonibare was accused of being the arrowhead of a splinter group, Jerry Ghana was alleged of setting up a parallel National Executive Committee in the party.

On the other hand, Donald Duke was placed on suspension for being too critical of the party and disrespecting it.

The SDP has been having internal issues since last year after two Presidential candidates Donald Duke and Prof. Jerry Gana emerged with the duo refusing to step down for the other.

And also recently the now former National Chairman of the political party, Chief Olu Falae retired from active politics and also stepped down as the party national chairman some few days ago.

Chief Olu Falae disclosed that he stepped down because of health issues.
