Seun Kuti Explains Why He Went AWOL For Grammys 2019 Performance
Seun Kuti who was to perform at the Grammy Awards 2019 has revealed his reasons for being unable to perform at the Awards ceremony.
It was a moment to be proud of for many Nigerians when it was revealed by the producers of the Grammys that Seun Kuti was to perform at the Grammys after also being nominated for the Best World Album category.
iDONSABI.com earlier reported that the Afrobeat star was to perform at the Awards ceremony alongside Malian songwriter/singer, Fatoumata Diawara at the just concluded awards.
However, the Afro beat star couldn’t perform at the awards disappointing fans who thought they’d be thrilled to watch the Afro Star perform at such grand event.
The singer apologized via and Instagram post to his fans who were on the lookout for his performance. He said that he had a ticket mix and that it made him miss the rehearsals for the performance. Seun Kuti went on to congratulate Soweto Choir who won the Best Album award in a category he had been nominated.

I had the weirdest ticket mix up in history meaning I missed my flight and the rehearsals and we couldn’t go on. Following criticisms pivoted on the fact that she didn’t deserve a Grammy before Queen of rap, Nicki Minaj, the rapper put up a post saying that she had done enough work to deserve the award.
Soon after she took down the post and some hours after deactivated her Instagram account.
