Tottenham To Rival Manchester United For Bruno Fernandes

North London club, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to snap up Bruno Fernandes from the reach of Manchester United after failing to land Real Betis midfielder, Giovani Le Celso all through the transfer window.

The Lilywhites are desperate to add to their existing squad before the summer transfer window deadline and have been in negotiations with Betis over the capture of Le Celso.

The North London club had a bid of £52 million rejected for the midfielder and have baulked at triggering the Argentine’s release clause put at £88 million.

This has led them to turn their heads in the direction of Sporting attacking midfielder, Bruno Fernandes as a viable alternative.

Bruno, a summer-long target of Manchester United has fetched a gargantuan load of praise from football lovers and United fans but according to The Independent, in spite of all these interests, Man United is yet to table an offer for the 24 year old.

On the other hand, Spurs have made an enquiry into the availability of the Portuguese at the start of the transfer window and are now set to toughen their pursuit of the midfielder.

Tottenham have already shattered their transfer club record with the signing of Lyon midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele for a sum of £53.8 million. On the same day, the Lilywhites also secured the signing of Leeds United’s Jack Clarke who was loaned back to the club for the 2019/2020 season.

However, they have failed to make any additional signings since then despite the departure of Vincent Jannsen and Kieran Trippier. Fernando Llorente who is now a free agent is also yet to agree to any form of contract extension.

The Spurs inability to make any other additions this summer has attracted a number of furious comments by the North London boss, Mauricio  Pochettino who insists he should be referred to as a coach and not a manager since he is “not in charge” of transfers.
