– This comes as Nigerians prepare to go the polls for the rescheduled 2019 Presidential Election

According to the latest report, Pres. Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government has declared Friday 22nd of February as Public Holiday.

This announcement was made public yesterday by the Special Assistant to the President on New media, Ahmad Bashir via his twitter handle.

According to the tweets by Ahmad Bashir, he disclosed that Friday was declared work-free day to enable workers to prepare for the rescheduled presidential and national assembly election set to take on Saturday, 23rd of Feb.

Ahmad Bashir terse statement reads, “GOOD IDEA: The Federal Government has declared Friday as Workfree Day to enable Nigerians prepare for the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly Elections on Saturday.”

This comes as Nigerians prepare for the polls set to commence on Saturday after the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had rescheduled the election last week Saturday.

INEC in a statement released by the body chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu in the early hours of last Saturday stated that the election had been postponed owing to problems with logistics.

While the Presidential Election is expected to take place this week, the state election have also been shifted from the 2nd of March to the 9th of March.

INEC in a statement this week has stated it readiness to commence the General Election this Saturday, the body Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu also disclosed that the electoral body is not under pressure.

With all of these now in place, Nigerian voters have been urged to prepare to move out on Saturday to cast their votes for their respective presidential candidates, who would rule the country for another four years.
