Barcelona Vs Rayo Vallecano LaLiga 09 March Preview

Barcelona will continue their quest to be crowned LaLiga Champions when they welcome out-of-form Rayo Vallecano to the Camp Nou.

The LaLiga title is for the Blaugranas to lift and it is difficult imagining them falling to a last minute slip that could cost them the title.

They have a seven-point lead over second-placed Atletico Madrid and look the likeliest to clinch the title considering that Atletico Madrid also have their eyes a deep run in the UEFA Champions League.

That said, Barcelona haven’t been invisible this season, dropping points in eight of their 26 games thus far. However, they continue to challenge on three fronts of the league title, UCL and Copa del Rey and don’t look to be complacent in any.

They are the favourites for this fixture but have to be tighter at the back having conceded 15 home league goals this term already.

Rayo Vallecano

Having suffered five straight defeats in laliga, Rayo Vallecano will be scratching their heads at the thought of playing Barcelona who will not be in the mood to hand out any favours to save them from falling deeper into the drop zone.

The Madrid winnows have the second-worst defensive record in the Laliga this season having shipped 45 goals in their last 26 games.

Not many would fancy Vallecano causing an upset to the Blaugranas but they came really close to triumphing in the reverse fixture this term.
