It Is Not Osinbajo’s Duty to Take Bills to Buhari – Akin Alabi
- Twitter users lament waste in the cost of governance over Kyari’s travel to London.
A member of the House of Representatives, Akin Alabi has seen nothing wrong with the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari taking a bill to President Buhari in London to sign.
Buhari who is a vacation in London signed the Deep Offshore (and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract) bill into law.
This didn’t augur well with some people who complained about the high cost of governance while some said Vice President Osinbajo ought to have been given the bill to sign into law. Buhari didn’t handover power to Osinbajo since he left the country.

Osinbajo is not Buhari’s PA
Reacting to the development, the lawmaker took to his Twitter page and said it is not the duty of the Vice President to take a bill to the president.
“It is NOT the duty of the Vice President to take a bill to the president. It’s the job of an assistant. Like the Chief of Staff. The Vice President has been excellent performing his constitutional duties and the ones assigned to him.
“If the President decides NOT to see Vice President Osinbajo as a PA, which I don’t think he should, then I’m 100% in support of that. I understand the political agenda of the noisemakers but anyone ready to learn should learn.”
Speaking further o the alleged misunderstanding between Kyari and Osinbajo, Alabi said it happens everywhere as it is part o politics.

“I don’t know whether there are problems between the Chief if Staff and the Vice President. Maybe there is. It’s politics and it happens everywhere. But with this bill signing issue, there is nothing out of the ordinary for the Chief of staff to bring a document for the president.
